FiiO has officially launched the DP11, a new desktop CD player aimed at music enthusiasts who still enjoy listening to their physical CD collections. Priced at $184.99, the player combines CD playback with modern digital audio features, including a built-in DAC, multiple output options and the ability to rip CDs in lossless quality. The DP11 features a custom CD mechanism designed specifically for desktop use, paired with a low-noise mounting system that helps maintain stable disc reading and smooth playback. FiiO has also borrowed elements of the circuit design from its S15 desktop Hi-Fi music streamer and DAC, including separate power supplies for the CD servo, digital and analogue sections. According to the company, this arrangement helps reduce electrical interference and deliver cleaner audio with improved detail. For audio processing, the DP11 uses a Cirrus Logic CS43198 DAC and offers several ways to connect to an existing audio setup. These include AES, coaxial and optical digital outputs, alongside an RCA analogue output. This allows users to connect the player directly to an amplifier or powered speakers, or pair it with an external DAC.Recommended by Our EditorsFiiO CLASS A Brings 4W Balanced Power, Five Gain Levels and Tone Controls to the DesktopNew Qualcomm Sound Chip Turns Gadgets Into AI Devices That Don’t Need a PhoneApple at 50: The iPod Mattered More Than the iPhone Beyond playing CDs, the DP11 also supports a USB digital interface and lossless CD ripping, allowing users to preserve their physical music collections in digital form.
