Bad News for Gachagua as Ndindi Nyoro Issues a Stern Warning to DCP Members and Leaders

Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro has urged members of Rigathi Gachagua’s Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) to stop engaging in political attacks and accusations over alleged moles and government projects within the opposition.

Nyoro’s remarks come amid growing disagreements between his political camp and DCP leaders as opposition politicians position themselves ahead of the 2027 General Election.

“I am asking my brothers and sisters in DCP: stop wasting our time with propaganda about moles and projects,” Nyoro said.

The Kiharu legislator has recently faced questions from some opposition leaders over his loyalty to the opposition. Several DCP allies have suggested that his political activities could benefit President William Ruto, allegations that Nyoro has rejected.

The disagreement has become more visible following the emergence of the People’s Party of Kenya (PPK), which Nyoro is using to mobilise politicians and aspirants seeking an alternative political platform.

Gachagua, who leads DCP, has also criticised Nyoro’s political initiative, raising concerns about the possibility of dividing support in the Mount Kenya region ahead of the next election.

In September, Gachagua urged DCP members to stop focusing on individuals they suspected of working with the government, arguing that the opposition should concentrate on its main political objective.

The latest exchanges highlight the challenge facing opposition leaders as they seek to build a united front against Ruto in 2027.

Nyoro has maintained that opposition politicians should be allowed to pursue their political plans without being branded government projects. He has also called for leaders to avoid public disagreements that could weaken their shared political ambitions.

With the election still months away, the relationship between DCP and other opposition groups remains an important issue in the country’s political landscape.

The coming months may show whether the rival camps can settle their differences and agree on areas of cooperation.

Do you think opposition leaders should stop accusing one another and focus on the issues affecting Kenyans?
