Asante Kotoko Hold Talks With Costa Papic Over Vacant Head Coach Position

Asante Kotoko are reportedly in talks with representatives of former Hearts of Oak coach Costa Papic as the club continues its search for a new head coach.

The discussions are said to involve Kotoko’s Director of Football, Stanley Menzo, who is reportedly exploring the possibility of bringing the experienced Serbian tactician to the club.

The Porcupine Warriors are looking to fill their vacant head coach position, and Papic has emerged as a potential candidate for the job. However, no official announcement has been made regarding an agreement between the two parties.

Papic is a familiar name in Ghanaian football, having previously coached Hearts of Oak, one of Kotoko’s biggest rivals. His experience in the Ghana Premier League could be an important factor as the Kumasi-based club considers its options for the position.

Asante Kotoko are among Ghana’s most successful football clubs, and expectations remain high among their supporters. The club will be hoping to appoint a coach capable of building a competitive team, improving consistency and challenging for major honours.

The appointment of a new head coach is an important decision for the club, particularly as it seeks to maintain its position among the leading sides in Ghanaian football.

Menzo’s reported involvement in the discussions suggests that the club’s football management is actively considering possible candidates to take charge of the team.

For Papic, a potential move to Kotoko would represent an opportunity to lead another major Ghanaian club, having previously worked with Hearts of Oak.

However, the reported talks remain at the discussion stage, and it is not yet clear whether they will lead to a formal appointment.

Kotoko supporters will be watching developments closely as they await clarity on who will take charge of the team.

Until the club confirms its decision, Papic’s possible appointment should be treated as speculation rather than a completed deal.
