UCL Table After Barcelona Lost 4-2
According to a report by BBC Sport on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, Paris Saint-Germain claimed an impressive 4-2 victory over Barcelona in their Champions League encounter.
Goals from Desire Doue, Vitinha, Lucas Hernandez and Fabian Ruiz helped the French champions secure the win, despite Barcelona scoring through Xavi Espart and Lamine Yamal.
PSG made a strong start and created several chances in the opening minutes. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia hit the post in the second minute, while Ousmane Dembele and Doue also tested Barcelona goalkeeper Joan Garcia. Barcelona responded through Pedri and Yamal, but neither player could find the breakthrough.
The hosts eventually took the lead in the 38th minute when Doue finished powerfully after receiving a pass from Joao Neves. Barcelona tried to respond before half-time, but Fabian Ruiz failed to add to PSG’s advantage as his attempts were comfortably handled by Garcia.
Barcelona were forced to make a first-half change after Dani Olmo suffered an injury, with Fermin Lopez coming on as his replacement. The substitution proved effective when Espart equalised in the 55th minute. Fermin delivered a pass into the penalty area, allowing the young defender to finish confidently into the bottom-right corner.
PSG continued to put pressure on Barcelona, with Achraf Hakimi and Kvaratskhelia creating further problems for the visitors. However, the hosts also suffered injury setbacks, with Marquinhos and Kvaratskhelia both leaving the pitch.
Barcelona introduced Gavi, Rodri and Karim Adeyemi as they attempted to gain control of the contest. Gavi came close to scoring in the 61st minute, but PSG goalkeeper Matvey Safonov produced an excellent save to deny him from close range.
PSG restored their lead in the 72nd minute when Lucas Hernandez rose highest to meet Doue’s corner and sent a powerful header into the top-right corner. Barcelona responded again, with Yamal producing an impressive solo run before finishing precisely to make it 2-2 in the 79th minute.
However, Vitinha put PSG ahead once more just two minutes later with a strike from outside the penalty area. Fabian Ruiz then sealed the victory in the 86th minute, finishing into an empty net after being set up by Hakimi.
Barcelona pushed forward in the closing stages in search of another equaliser, but PSG defended their advantage to secure a convincing 4-2 victory.
