Shatta Wale Supports Family of Police Man Who Died During Shattafest

Ghanaian dancehall star Shatta Wale has extended financial assistance to the family of Officer Prince Adu, who died in a road accident while travelling to undertake security duties at ShattaFest 2026 in Accra.

The musician donated GH¢20,000 to the bereaved family through a delegation of his team members, with the money intended to help cater for the needs of the deceased officer’s children.

The delegation comprised Ralph De Fellow, Ghanaian, Long Jon, Jerome Nii Kpakpo Acquaye and Larbiano. They visited the family and presented the cash donation as part of efforts to provide support following the officer’s death.

Shatta Wale is also reported to have promised further assistance to the family, suggesting that the initial contribution may be followed by additional support.

Officer Adu reportedly died in an accident while on his way to prepare for his assignment at the music festival. Reports indicated that he was travelling to change his uniform before proceeding with his scheduled security duties.

His death has left his family facing the challenge of adjusting to life without him, particularly as they continue to provide for his children.

The GH¢20,000 contribution is expected to help ease some of the immediate financial pressures on the family during this difficult period.

Shatta Wale’s gesture also highlights the importance of support for the families of security personnel who lose their lives while preparing to carry out official duties at public events.
