During an extended debate at plenary on Wednesday, the lawmakers called on the Federal Government to urgently release funds to the relevant agencies with a view to containing the spread of the virus.

The senators however, unanimously rejected a motion urging members to visit the Abuja airport, through which the Uganda patient entered Nigeria for on-the-spot assessment.

It’s apparent the lawmakers are scared of possible infection during such a visit to the facility.

The debate was still ongoing as of the time of filing this report.
