RIP: Sad News As Newlywed Couple Is Killed By Govt After Being Caught Kissing In Public

A trip to Saudi Arabia meant to celebrate a newlywed couple’s marriage ended in tragedy after two Bangladeshi nationals were executed following a court ruling over an alleged incident near a mosque in Makkah.

According to reports, the couple got into trouble after Nazerul allegedly kissed his wife’s forehead following prayers.

Another person reportedly recorded the incident, attracting the attention of security officers and leading to their arrest.

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Interior announced that the couple were executed after their death sentences were upheld by the country’s judicial authorities.

The ministry said they had been convicted of an offence described as immoral conduct inside a mosque.

However, officials did not provide detailed information about the incident or the evidence presented during the trial.

Reports indicate that the court imposed the death penalty under ta’zir, a category of punishment under Islamic law that allows judges discretion in determining penalties for certain offences.

Saudi authorities said the punishment reflected the seriousness of the offence and the alleged violation of the sanctity of the location.

The sentences were subsequently upheld before a royal order authorised the executions.

The deaths have raised questions about the treatment of foreign nationals facing capital punishment and the role of diplomatic missions in protecting their citizens abroad.

According to reports, Bangladesh’s Consulate General in Jeddah said it had not received advance notification of the executions.

The diplomatic mission reportedly sought clarification from Saudi authorities about the circumstances surrounding the deaths.

The case has also prompted questions about whether the couple received adequate legal representation and had an opportunity to challenge the court’s decision.

For their families, the executions represent a devastating loss.

What began as a journey to perform religious duties and celebrate their marriage ended in tragedy.

The case has renewed attention on the rights of foreign nationals facing the death penalty and the importance of transparency in criminal proceedings.
