Peter Obi Told The BBC He Won The 2023 Election, Then The Lady Asked Do You Have Proof?” Nwaokobia
According to a video posted on Symfoni on Tuesday October 19, 2026, Nwaokobia said Peter Obi told the BBC he won the 2023 election but did not have proof. Nwaokobia was reacting to a recent interview Obi gave to a BBC journalist. He described the exchange as a turning point for some of Obi’s supporters.
Nwaokobia spoke on Symfoni TV with Victor. He said a friend among Obi’s followers called him after watching the interview and said, “Now I see.” Nwaokobia replied that the friend had not seen anything yet and that the campaign was only starting.
In his words, Nwaokobia said, “We were all certain that Peter Gregory will win 2023 elections. The lady with the BBC asked him a simple question, ‘Did you win the election?’ He said, ‘Yes, I won.’ ‘Do you have proof?’ The simple answer was ‘The proofs that I had, I took to court.’ ‘That the court threw away does not mean that I do not have proof.’ Before the world, Peter Gregory Obi said he did not have proof,” he said.
Nwaokobia said this answer matters to him because of the kind of leader he wants to support. He said he cannot campaign for a president who is not definite on issues. He added that doing so would be unfair to posterity.
He described his decision as ideological. According to him, he cannot boldly tell his children or his followers that Obi is the best candidate for a country that needs a massive reset. He said there are better options and alternatives.
Nwaokobia added that it does not matter to him whether the person he supports wins or loses. He said what counts is that he backed the best candidate. He said that is what he will take home.
