Paris Saint-Germain Star to Undergo Surgery

According to a report by Metro on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, after sustaining a serious knee injury in Tuesday night’s 4-2 UEFA Champions League victory over Barcelona, winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia of Paris Saint-Germain will have surgery.

The injury occurred early in the second half when the Georgian international was involved in a collision with Xavi Espar. As he went down to the ground, he held his right knee, which caused concern among his teammates and the PSG medical staff.

The 25-year-old winger was treated on the pitch by the club’s medical staff as soon as it became apparent he could not continue the match. As Kvaratskhelia left the field, PSG were concerned about the severity of his injury since he couldn’t put any weight on his right leg.

On Wednesday morning, PSG announced that the star player, who had previously played for Napoli, would be undergoing surgery to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his right knee.

The French champions take a huge hit from the injury, as Kvaratskhelia has been an integral part of their attack. He is a vital cog in the club’s offensive machine thanks to his speed, dribbling prowess, and imagination.

The injury was a disappointment for the 25-year-old, but he promised to come back stronger once he healed. Nevertheless, PSG may be without the Georgian international for an extended period of time due to the typical rehabilitation required by ACL injuries, which typically spans several months.

As the winger concentrates on his recovery, manager Luis Enrique will have to find other ways to score goals in his absence.

Supporters are still waiting for more information about Kvaratskhelia’s condition as the season progresses, even though PSG have confirmed that surgery will be scheduled in the near future.
