No Cover For Abusive Headmaster, Even If He Is NDC Executive—Edem Agbana Speaks On Obuasi SHTS Case

Member of Parliament for Ketu North, Edem Agbana, has spoken on the alleged sexual abuse case at Obuasi Senior High Technical School (SHTS).

According to him, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will not protect the headmaster involved in the case, even though he is a party executive.

Edem Agbana said the party will not provide any cover for anyone who is found to have abused students, no matter their position in the party.

He explained that the NDC does not support sexual abuse and will allow the law to take its full course.

“The NDC will not provide any cover for the headmaster involved in the Obuasi SHTS sexual abuse case, despite his position as a party executive,” he stated.

The MP said the case is serious and touches on the safety and dignity of young students, so it should not be politicized.

He called on the Ghana Education Service and the police to conduct a thorough investigation and ensure that justice is served for the victims.

He added that protecting children in schools should be more important than protecting any party member.

His statement comes after some Ghanaians raised concerns that the headmaster might be shielded because of his affiliation with the NDC.

Edem Agbana assured the public that there will be no interference from the party and that anyone found guilty must face the law.
