Malema Surprises Loyal Supporter With Heartfelt Home Visit
EFF President Julius Malema made a special trip to Zwelisha Village near Mbombela in Mpumalanga on Tuesday to visit a party supporter who had been deeply moved at a recent rally.
Nombuso Khoza from Zwelisha travelled last month to eMalahleni to attend the EFF’s provincial manifesto launch. During the event she became overwhelmed with emotion while listening to Malema speak. The moment was captured and shared widely, prompting the EFF leader to pay her a personal courtesy call.
Malema arrived at Khoza’s home in Ward 24 to show appreciation for her loyalty and dedication. He was not on a door-to-door campaign, but news of his visit quickly spread. Neighbours and other residents gathered in numbers to welcome him and share their daily struggles.
Locals raised long-standing service delivery problems. They spoke about damaged roads full of potholes, unreliable water and electricity supply, and the lack of jobs for young people who have finished matric. One resident asked for help with work opportunities and basic services. Another called for better roads, power supply and chances for school-leavers to study further or find employment.
Malema listened to the community and later addressed them outside Khoza’s home. He criticised the state of municipalities across Mpumalanga and said the EFF was ready to fix problems if given the chance. He promised to engage Eskom about a faulty substation affecting electricity in the area and gave an assurance that progress would be seen before the 4 November elections.
The visit highlighted both the personal connection between the EFF leader and ordinary supporters, and the real challenges facing many communities in the province. Residents left hopeful that their voices had been heard.
