“I Was Sweating,I Was Holding My Leg,I Was Seeing Blood–Perry Recounts Life-Threatening Stray Bullet

According to a report by Premium Times, on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, Nigerian comedian and actor Samuel Perry, popularly known as Broda Shaggi, has recounted the frightening experience that left him fearing for his life after he was struck by a stray bullet and required surgery.

The comedian disclosed the details of the incident in a video shared on his YouTube channel on Wednesday, describing the severity of his injury and the struggle to survive.

His account comes months after the incident forced him to withdraw from public appearances and raised concerns among fans who had been waiting for updates about his health and recovery.

PREMIUM TIMES gathered that Broda Shaggi sustained the gunshot injury in March while filming a comedy skit in Sango-Ota, Ogun State.

The incident resulted in his hospitalisation and brought his public activities to an abrupt halt.

Following the development, the comedian became largely absent from social media, stopped posting his usual comedy skits and left many fans wondering about his condition.

As concerns about his safety increased, Nigerians took to social media to express their worries and offer prayers for his recovery.

The 33-year-old comedian has now spoken publicly about the ordeal, revealing that the injury was serious enough to require surgical procedures in Nigeria and abroad.

In the video, he explained that he lost consciousness after being struck by the bullet and remained unconscious until he arrived at the hospital.

He also said he could not remember how he was transported to the medical facility.

His account provided further details about the severity of the incident and the uncertainty surrounding his condition immediately after he was injured.

Broda Shaggi recalled that his main concern during the ordeal was surviving, as he struggled with the pain and the sight of blood.

He said he desperately prayed for his life while waiting for medical personnel to attend to him.

According to the comedian, hospital staff had to cut off the clothes he was wearing to locate the bullet wound before administering first aid.

He also described how the medical team determined that he needed to be transferred to another hospital because the first facility did not have sufficient equipment to manage his condition adequately.

The comedian further explained that the experience involved several frightening moments as he waited for treatment and hoped to receive reassurance from the doctors.

He recalled sweating, holding his leg and seeing blood while medical personnel worked to address the injury.

He said the situation became particularly distressing when he learnt that he needed to be moved to another hospital for further treatment.

Despite the uncertainty surrounding his condition, he continued hoping that he would survive and eventually recover from the injury.

His account highlighted the fear he experienced while waiting for the medical attention he needed.

He said, “All that was in my mind was just to survive, to live through that moment because I didn’t want to die. I said, I didn’t want to die. Then, it got to that point where they said they had to take me to another hospital because they didn’t have enough equipment to handle me at that hospital. A lot was happening at once. I was sweating, I was holding my leg, I was seeing blood, and all I wanted to hear was a doctor telling me, ‘Samuel, you’ll be fine, you’ll be all right, you won’t die.’ Fortunately, we got to the next hospital.”
