“I don’t know who the hell you are, but you better be careful’ – President Trump snaps at a reporter

According to a report by Fox News on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, US President Donald Trump has sparked fresh controversy after confronting a reporter during a tense exchange in the Oval Office, warning the journalist to “be careful” after becoming frustrated with questions from members of the press.

The incident occurred on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, during an Oval Office event where Trump and Vice President JD Vance announced a new government initiative aimed at tackling fraud.

According to reports, the president became visibly irritated as reporters attempted to ask questions during the briefing. At one point, Trump turned towards a journalist and issued a sharp warning.

“Hey, I’m not playing. I don’t know who the hell you are, but you better be careful. Go ahead,” Trump said.

The exchange quickly attracted attention, with video footage of the confrontation circulating online and prompting renewed discussion about the president’s relationship with journalists.

The reporter was subsequently identified as Andrew Feinberg, a correspondent for British newspaper The Independent, according to reports citing the White House’s Rapid Response Team.

The confrontation was one of several tense moments during the briefing, as Trump repeatedly interrupted journalists and expressed displeasure with some of their questions.

In another exchange, the president raised his voice while attempting to stop a reporter from speaking, telling the journalist to wait before continuing with the discussion.

The incidents unfolded as Trump and Vance promoted a $25 million Fraud Whistleblower Incentive Program designed to encourage members of the public to report suspected fraud involving government funds.

Under the programme, eligible whistleblowers could receive financial rewards of up to $30,000 for verified tips that lead to a conviction or significant enforcement action, according to reports on the announcement.
