Good News as Eight Ebola Patients Respond Well to Treatment

Kenya’s Ebola response has reached an important milestone, with the Ministry of Health sharing encouraging updates on patients receiving treatment and people under monitoring.

Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale said eight patients are stable and responding well to treatment, offering a positive update amid ongoing efforts to contain the disease.

The ministry is also monitoring people who came into contact with confirmed cases. The first group of contacts is nearing the end of the required 21-day quarantine period, marking another significant step in the country’s response.

The first group of contacts is expected to complete quarantine and begin returning home on October 25, provided they remain symptom-free throughout the monitoring period. Health officials have also continued contact tracing to identify and monitor everyone who may have been exposed.

The update comes as Kenya works to contain the outbreak and prevent further infections. Authorities continue to emphasise monitoring, timely testing and isolation as key measures in controlling the spread.
