“Go and Ask Your Own Leaders About the Money” — Franklin Cudjoe Slams NPP Over ‘Yegyeyɛ Sika’ Demo
The President of IMANI Africa, Franklin Cudjoe, has reacted sharply to a planned demonstration by the youth wing of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
The demonstration is called “Yegyeyɛ Sika.” It is meant to protest alleged government corruption and unfulfilled promises. The Chief of the 1957 News portal reported the plan on Tuesday, October 20, 2026.
Mr Cudjoe shared the news on his official Facebook page on Wednesday, October 21, 2026. He described the NPP youth wing’s protest as “rubbish.” He said Ghanaians know who has taken the nation’s money.
According to him, some of those people are already on trial. He said many others will follow them to court. He also said the chief architects of the alleged wrongdoing have run away from accountability.
Mr Cudjoe then turned to the NPP leadership. He told the youth wing to go and ask their own leaders about the missing funds. He added that they should have done so yesterday. He signed off with the word “KOKLO,” which is a common phrase in his posts.
The post has drawn attention online. Many Ghanaians have shared their views on the matter in the comments section. Some agreed with Mr Cudjoe, while others defended the right of the youth wing to protest.
Mr Cudjoe is a well-known policy analyst and the founding president of IMANI Africa, a think tank based in Accra. He has long spoken on issues of public accountability, corruption and economic management. His comments often spark national debate.
The NPP youth wing has not yet responded to his remarks. It is also not clear when the planned demonstration will take place. Further details are expected from the party in the coming days.
