Gbande seeks another term as NDC Deputy General Secretary
Mustapha Gbande has declared his intention to contest for another term as Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), saying he is ready to serve the party better ahead of the 2028 elections.
Gbande, who also serves as Deputy Director of Operations at the Presidency, made the declaration when he arrived at the NDC headquarters on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, to formally announce his bid.
He expressed confidence in his record, leaving his performance for party members to judge based on his work on the ground.
“Have I served well? The verdict will show on the ground. I know it’s loyalty and dedicated service. Have I caused problems? Never,” he said.
Gbande acknowledged that no leadership was perfect but maintained that he had consistently delivered on assignments given to him by his superiors.
“I am proud to say that I have never failed any of my superiors anytime I was called upon to undertake an assignment. Given any opportunity, I will do the same,” he added.
The NDC Deputy General Secretary also indicated that he would remain true to his character while improving his approach to party work if given another opportunity.
“Will I change my nature? I am not going to change my nature, but I’ll come back more polished, stronger, to discharge a better responsibility for the party,” he stated.
