The policy launch, supported by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), is scheduled for Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at Transcorp Hotel Calabar.

During the visits, the team explained that the framework would strengthen accountability in governance by tracking the performance of ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs), monitoring the use of public funds and assessing progress towards government targets.
The Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Head of Service expressed the Head of Service’s support for the initiative, stressing the importance of transparency in public service delivery.
Similarly, the Permanent Secretary, Cross River State Department of Budget, Monitoring and Evaluation, Dr. Peter Uklala, welcomed the policy, describing effective planning as essential to the success of any government or organisation.
At the Ministry of Women Affairs, the Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Rita Eteng, pledged collaboration with the Planning Commission, expressing optimism about the framework’s expected impact.
The Commissioner for Social Welfare and Community Development, Professor Margaret Ene-Ita, also welcomed the initiative, noting that it would help track programme implementation, measure progress and ensure that citizens benefit from government policies and projects.
The policy is expected to provide a common framework for MDAs to assess performance, improve service delivery and promote transparency and accountability across the state’s public sector.
