Cristiano Ronaldo sends heartfelt message to Khvicha Kvaratskhelia as PSG winger picks up ACL injury

According to a report by GOAL on Wednesday October 21, 2026, Cristiano Ronaldo has sent a heartfelt message to Paris Saint-Germain winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia after the Georgian star suffered an ACL injury during PSG’s 4-2 Champions League victory over Barcelona.

Kvaratskhelia was one of three PSG players forced off with injuries during the entertaining encounter, with Ousmane Dembele and Marquinhos also unable to complete the game.

PSG have since confirmed that Kvaratskhelia sustained an ACL injury and is set to undergo surgery, although the French club has not yet provided a specific timeline for his return.

The injury represents a major setback for the 25-year-old, who has established himself as one of PSG’s most important attacking players. Kvaratskhelia was visibly frustrated by the development and took to social media to express his emotions.

The Georgian winger revealed that he had prayed before games for the opportunity to leave the pitch healthy, making the injury particularly difficult for him to understand.

“Many people asked me about this stand, many said that if all the footballers in the world prayed, the game would end in a draw. This could be true but before every game I play I ask God to leave the field healthy but in vain,” Kvaratskhelia wrote.

Ronaldo has been a major inspiration for the Georgian throughout his career, and Kvaratskhelia has previously explained that he learned important lessons from watching how the Portuguese superstar conducted himself both on and off the pitch.

Speaking to Rio Ferdinand on his YouTube channel, Kvaratskhelia highlighted Ronaldo’s professionalism as the biggest lesson he took from the legendary forward.

“I think professionalism. He was the main character for me because everyone knows he is one of the best players in history. But the way he lives is what I took and learned from him, and many things but the professionalism off the field was the main thing,” Kvaratskhelia said.
