Bridget Fonda, 62, reveals dramatic 100-lb weight loss transformation amid rare outing
LEAVE A COMMENT Bridget Fonda looked better than ever as she stepped out in Los Angeles on Monday to run errands, showcasing her incredible 100-lb weight loss.
The 62-year-old, who has undergone a major transformation in recent years, made a rare appearance while wearing black lounge pants, a white tee and a loose blue button-up shirt thrown over the top.
Bridget wore her grayish-brown locks in a casual updo, and completed the look with a black handbag and tinted glasses.
The actress rose to fame in the late '80s and early '90s thanks to star-making roles in films like Scandal, The Godfather III, Single White Female and Singles. She then stepped away from the spotlight in the early '00s after a horror car crash left her seriously injured.
Bridget has undergone a significant transformation in recent years, with dietician and exercise scientist Amelia Phillips telling HELLO! that she had likely lost around 100 lbs on her weight loss journey.
"Based on Bridget's visible transformation over recent years, she may have lost around 100 lbs," Amelia explained.
"Bridget's weight loss may have been aided by GLP-1 medications like Ozempic or Mounjaro, which work to suppress appetite and help people feel fuller for longer."
"However, she also would've made changes to her diet and exercise routine, which play a major role in weight management."
Bridget has always been open about her struggles with her body image, and shared with the LA Times that she had been battling low self-esteem her whole life.
"What is it with my low self-esteem?" she asked. "I'm trying to be happy with my career. I think I should give myself a break, but I've got this bug that rides me. 'You should be doing better.'"
"Every time I work, I'm frustrated with my physical inability to catch up to my mental picture."
The star later shared with The Guardian that she didn't want to be forced into a box and given specific roles in Hollywood.
"My tastes are too diverse. I don't want to be known as someone who can only do a certain thing, or be a certain way," she explained.
"I want to have the freedom to experiment. Who wants to be narrowed down or put in a box? I'm freer this way; I'll never be cast as the girl who's so pretty she can just stand there, or the one who's so quirky and comical that the whole thing stands or falls on her performance."
When Bridget stepped away from Hollywood in the early '00s, she devoted herself to raising her son, Oliver, whom she welcomed in 2005 with her husband, composer Danny Elfman.
While Bridget has neglected to step out publicly with her family, Oliver did join his father on the red carpet in 2022 for the Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness premiere, with Danny sharing that he was camera shy. "Note: a photo of Oliver is very rare, as he hates taking pictures and posts nothing, secretive fellow that he is… like catching a photo of a hard-to-find rare animal!" Danny wrote on social media.
