Bank of Ghana Releases Daily Exchange Rates for Wednesday, October 21, 2026

The Bank of Ghana has released its daily exchange rates for Wednesday, October 21, 2026, providing the latest published buying and selling rates for the US dollar, British pound and euro.

According to the figures in the Bank of Ghana’s exchange rate notice, the rates are based on average interbank rates used by commercial banks for transactions at the close of business on Tuesday, October 20, 2026.

The US dollar recorded a buying rate of GH¢11.6000 and a selling rate of GH¢11.6116. The British pound sterling was listed at a buying rate of GH¢15.5104 and a selling rate of GH¢15.5270.

Meanwhile, the euro recorded a buying rate of GH¢13.0252 and a selling rate of GH¢13.0370.

The published rates provide a reference for understanding foreign exchange trading in Ghana’s banking sector. However, the actual rates offered to customers may vary depending on the commercial bank, forex bureau or financial institution involved.

The buying rate represents the rate at which a financial institution buys foreign currency, while the selling rate represents the rate at which it sells that currency to customers.

Exchange rate movements remain important to businesses, importers, exporters and individuals who depend on foreign currencies for international transactions. Changes in the value of the cedi against major currencies can influence the cost of imported goods, overseas payments and other foreign exchange-related activities.

The latest figures offer an indication of the interbank market rates reported by the Bank of Ghana for the stated period. Customers are encouraged to confirm the applicable rates with their respective financial institutions before carrying out foreign exchange transactions.
