2027: Primate Ayodele Predicts Setback for Tinubu in Abuja, Says Nigeria Will Change Its Name

2027: Primate Ayodele Predicts Setback for Tinubu in Abuja, Says Nigeria Will Change Its Name

According to a report by DAILY POST published on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, Primate Elijah Ayodele, the leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has issued a fresh prediction concerning President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid, warning that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) could encounter significant challenges in several northern states during the 2027 presidential election.

The cleric made the prediction in a statement released by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, in which he discussed the political atmosphere ahead of the forthcoming general election. He claimed that Tinubu’s support in the North could weaken and argued that the region would play a crucial role in determining the country’s next president.

Ayodele also alleged that the president could struggle to secure victory in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, claiming that electoral malpractice would be necessary for Tinubu to win there. However, this assertion remains the cleric’s personal prediction and has not been independently substantiated.

According to Ayodele, the reported appointment of Senator Abdulaziz Yari as the Director-General of Tinubu’s campaign would not automatically improve the president’s electoral prospects. He maintained that the political attitudes of northern voters could prove difficult to change through campaign appointments alone.

“The North hates Tinubu’s candidacy, and even with Yari as DG, they are adamant to vote Tinubu because what is happening now is just nemesis; God has given the North the power to decide who rules Nigeria,” Ayodele said.

The cleric identified Adamawa, Katsina, Jigawa, Zamfara, Sokoto and Bauchi as states where the APC could face considerable opposition. He also mentioned Yobe, Gombe and Kebbi, suggesting that political divisions in these areas could affect the ruling party’s performance.

Although Ayodele maintained that Tinubu could still improve his chances through appropriate political decisions, he insisted that Yari’s reported appointment would not be sufficient to address the challenges he predicted.

“It can still change if the president knows what to do, but they are shaking already; Yari cannot do the mending; It’s all about time, and the date for the election is not a victory date for Tinubu,” he added.

Beyond his political predictions, Ayodele made another claim concerning Nigeria’s national identity, suggesting that the country would eventually adopt a different name. He argued that the existing name carried spiritual implications that, in his view, affected leadership and national development.

“The name Nigeria is affecting leadership of this great nation; It will eventually be changed when God opens the eyes of some leaders; The name is contaminated and has serious spiritual implications on the nation,” he stated.

Ayodele further claimed that the country’s name carried an unfavourable spiritual significance that could contribute to setbacks in governance.

“The name doesn’t have a good aura and will cause setbacks; You may not understand, but when it’s time, people will know better,” he said.

His remarks come as political preparations continue ahead of the 2027 general election. Nevertheless, his claims about Tinubu’s electoral prospects, voting patterns in northern states and a possible change to Nigeria’s name remain unverified predictions rather than established outcomes.
