You Lectured Us, But Inflation Hit 54.1% Under You – Group Blasts Bawumia

The Executive Director of Good Governance Advocacy Group Ghana, Listowell Nana Kusi-Poku, has hit hard at former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

He says Dr. Bawumia is good at lecturing Ghanaians on the economy, but his own record in government is terrible.

According to him, under Dr. Bawumia’s government, inflation in Ghana hit a painful 54.1%, one of the highest in the country’s history.

Reacting to Dr. Bawumia’s recent economic lectures, Listowell Nana Kusi-Poku did not mince words.

“Dr. Bawumia lectures us on the economy, but under his government, inflation hit 54.1%. Great lectures, terrible results!” he said.

He explained that while Dr. Bawumia talks big about economic management, Ghanaians suffered high prices for food, fuel, rent, and everything else when he was in charge of the economy.

He said lectures cannot fix an economy, results do.

Many Ghanaians remember how hard life became when inflation shot up to 54.1%. Prices doubled, businesses collapsed, and families struggled to survive.

Listowell believes Dr. Bawumia should be humble and admit his government failed, instead of acting like an economic professor now.

He said Ghanaians will not be deceived by big English and economic theories. They will judge leaders by what they did when they had power.

“Great lectures, terrible results,” he repeated, saying that is the true story of Dr. Bawumia’s economic leadership.
