Woman who married a rag doll celebrates six years of marriage with anniversary post
Meirivone Rocha Moraes 'married' the rag doll called Marcelo, who her mum made for her
A woman who got married to a rag doll has sahred an anniversary post to her social media pages.
Meirivone Rocha Moraes 'married' Marcelo the life-sized rag doll after her mum made Marcelo for her to take to a dance.
Since then Moraes, from Brazil, has shared regular updates on her life with Marcelo, including even having children together and talking about how she had been worried about him cheating on her.
Taking to her social media page, she wrote (translated): "Today we commemorate six years of love, my love you were and always will be my best decision, thank you so much for being in my life."
The post was shared with a picture of Moraes smiling alongside Marcelo the rag doll, but Moraes has previously opened up about challenges that she has had with Marcelo.
āBeing married to a rag doll isnāt all itās cracked up to be,ā she told Now to Love, even saying that Marcelo is a 'serial cheater' and that he has been 'unfaithful' on more than one occasion.
"I forgave him before for the simple fact that we have a family together," she said, "I couldnāt break us apart for the kidsā sake.ā
She added: He says he will change, but I donāt believe him.
āEverything was fine – we had agreed to renew our vows and I gave my all to this relationship. Iām angry, sad and disappointed by his actions.
"People tell me heās just a doll and I know heās made of cloth, but heās not stupid. If thereās one thing he knows how to do, itās manipulate.ā
She has also previously spoken about how Marcelo has cheated on her, but she has forgiven him for his infidelity before when she found out that she was 'pregnant'.
Moraes' relationship with Marcelo is due to her having something called 'objectophilia', which is a romantic or sexual attraction towards inanimate objects.
Moraes knows that Marcelo is not a real person, but she does believe that he has a soul.
But how did this relationship start to begin with? Moraes' mother actually made Marcelo for her when she couldn't find someone to dance with her, and as soon as she saw Morcelo she immediately took a shine to him.
Despite the difficulties, Moraes has previously said that she gave him 'another shot' and that they were going to 'weekly couples therapy'.
"It might not do us any good and Iāll need to realise our relationship is over, no matter how much it pains me," she said previously, adding that she was 'seriously thinking about asking him to leave now to get it out of the way.'
Moraes has racked up some 174,000 followers on Instagram, where she shares updates and explainers about her life with Marcelo.
This even included an incident where their rag doll Marcelinho, which means 'Little Marcelo' in Portuguese, had been kidnapped, with his captors demanding a ransom for his release back to Moraes.
She later shared an update that Marcelinho had been returned to her safe and sound after the ordeal.
