Wike: If I Were Fubara, If You Come Every Day Till Election Day, I Will Do What’s On My Mind–Ezeribe
A Port Harcourt resident, Monday Ezeribe, has criticised the renewed reconciliation efforts between Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
Speaking during an interview on News Central TV, Ezeribe described the reconciliation as unfair, questioning why Wike was seeking peace with Fubara after the political crisis that affected the governor’s administration.
He made the statement while reacting to another closed-door meeting between Wike and Fubara at the governor’s private residence in Port Harcourt.
Wike attended the meeting with a delegation that included members of the Rivers State House of Assembly led by Martin Amaewhule and other political allies.
Speaking on the development, Ezeribe argued that the reconciliation was not right, considering the earlier disagreements between the two political leaders.
He said Fubara had been removed from office for almost six months and accused Wike of opposing the governor’s ambition to secure a second term.
Ezeribe questioned the purpose of the renewed peace efforts, describing them as an evil reconciliation.
He further stated that if he were in Fubara’s position, he would remain firm in his decisions, even if Wike and his supporters continued visiting him until election day.
Meanwhile, other residents have urged both leaders to focus on governance and the welfare of Rivers State residents.
In his words, “If I were the present governor, if you people come every day till the day of election, I will do what’s in my mind.”
