Today’s Headlines:This Is PDP’s First Ballot Absence-Fayose;I Won’t Restore Fuel Subsidy-Tinubu

Nigerian businessman and political commentator, Isaac Fayose has described the President Bola Tinubu-led administration as the worst-ever, claiming that about 67 percent of the citizens are crying.

Fayose spoke when he featured on News Central TV where he addressed the alleged intimidation of the opposition members by the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

According to him, “this is the worst government in the history of our country. You don’t even need to ask me, go to the street and ask.

“Over 67 percent of Nigerians have been crying since this government came”.

President Bola Tinubu has taken a swipe at former Vice President Atiku Abubakar over his promise to restore fuel subsidy, declaring that Nigeria will never return to the policy despite the economic hardship accompanying its removal.

Tinubu, who insisted that he had no regrets over the decision, said Nigeria was heading towards bankruptcy when he scrapped the subsidy on his first day in office in May 2023.

The President spoke on Monday at an event tagged “Together till 2027: An Evening with Original City Boy”, organised by the City Boy Movement in collaboration with the Relax-Tinubu-Is-Fixing-Nigeria movement to mobilise support for his re-election.

Responding to Atiku, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, Tinubu compared calls for the restoration of fuel subsidy to asking the biblical Moses to return to Egypt after leading the Israelites out of captivity.

“I could listen to my political opponents promising a return to subsidy. Most of all, sometimes I remember my scripture studies, both the Bible and the Holy Quran. When Moses left Egypt, they faced the challenge, and the Red Sea parted and gave way,” he said.

‌‍‍‍‍‌The Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, says it has opened a fresh complaints window for applicants screened out of its recent recruitment.

The move is a sequel to concerns raised by candidates who appeared on the recruitment shortlist but were subsequently denied admission to the training college.

NCS’s spokesperson, Abdullahi Maiwada, made this known in a statement on Monday in Abuja.

The NCS on September 23 said it had concluded its recruitment process with the final stage in a two-week time at the Training and Doctrine Command, TRADOC, Gwagwalada, Abuja.

The Department of State Services (DSS) has arraigned five suspects before the Imo State High Court in Owerri over their alleged involvement in the abduction of 20 prospective National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members and another passenger.

The suspects, identified in photographs accompanying the report as Ibrahim Jiji, Aminu Haliru, Mohammed Ali, Usman Aliyu and Babangida Aliyu, 31, were brought before the Justice Oputa State High Court in Owerri on Tuesday, October 20, 2026.

Their arraignment followed a joint security operation involving the DSS, military and Nigeria Police Force, which led to their arrest in Rivers and Abia states between October 10 and 14.
