Jordan, son of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has been dragged before the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over his alleged involvement in a botched $2.1m land transaction in the nation’s capital.

This is just as Justice Silvanus Oriji of the FCT High Court fixed December 1 for the continuation of the civil suit marked: CV/008/2026, which the claimants filed against Jordan.

Wike’s son was taken to the Court after the alleged failed real estate transaction with the two claimants – Safwan Garba GY and GY Global Oil and Gas Nigeria Limited.

Daily Trust reports that the claimants are seeking to recover the $2.1m they allegedly paid to Jordan in connection with a proposed property development venture involving land in Katampe and Guzape.

Chairman of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, has mourned former Delta State Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan, crediting him with contributing to peace in the Niger Delta.

Tompolo, in a condolence statement issued by his media consultant, Dr Paul Bebenimibo, on Monday, said Uduaghan played a significant role during the peak of militancy in the oil-producing region.

The media office of former Sokoto State Governor and Senator Aminu Tambuwal has dismissed reports suggesting that the African Democratic Congress chieftain is planning to defect to the All Progressives Congress. It described the claims as false and baseless.

The office said Tambuwal remained committed to the ADC and was focused on strengthening the party and mobilising support ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In a statement issued on Monday, the Special Adviser on Media and Strategy to the senator, Prince Daniel, said there was no plan for Tambuwal to return to the APC, urging the public to disregard the speculation circulating on social media.

“For the avoidance of doubt, Senator Tambuwal has no plans to join the APC. Suggestions to the contrary are false, baseless and should be disregarded,” the statement said.

President Bola Tinubu has said he has no regrets over the removal of the fuel subsidy, vowing that Nigeria will never go back to it and likening any return to asking the biblical Moses to go back to Egypt.

Tinubu spoke on Monday evening at the forum tagged ‘Together till 2027: An Evening with Original City Boy’, organised by the City Boy Movement in conjunction with the Relax-Tinubu-Is-Fixing-Nigeria movement, both of which are geared towards his reelection at the 2027 polls.

Recalling the start of his administration, the President said he scrapped the subsidy on his first day in office.

“I came and I removed the subsidy the first day,” he said, adding that Nigeria was heading for bankruptcy, with “nothing left to pay the subsidy”.

Africa’s leading industrialist, Aliko Dangote, says he would rather go to prison than surrender access to his mobile phone.

Speaking at an event in Lagos where he unveiled his Vision 2030 plan, the billionaire was asked to choose between spending a week without his mobile phone and giving up access to his private jet.

In response, he said losing access to his phone would be far more difficult, stressing the importance of the device to him.

“Ah… I think it’s easier you put me in prison than to take my phone away. So, you know, I mean taking my phone away is no-go area, okay?” he said.

Dangote also revealed that his phone contained more than 13,000 contacts, highlighting the extent of his personal and professional network and the role the device plays in maintaining those connections.
