Today’s Headlines: Tinubu Lacks What To Campaign With In Bayelsa-NDC, Adebayo Visit Laura Fernández

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has chided President Bola Tinubu for including Bayelsa as one of the states he may not visit during the campaign, saying the president and his All Progressives Congress (APC) lack what to campaign with in the state.

The Bayelsa State Publicity Secretary of NDC, Prince Mac-Ake, stated this while speaking with journalists in Yenagoa, the state capital.

He said the president and his party already knew that NDC is more grounded in the state and its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and other candidates will win the state resoundingly during the 2027 polls.

NDC also accused APC-led Federal Government of marginalising Bayelsa State, citing concerns over the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway project and the reported exclusion of the state from President Bola Tinubu’s campaign itinerary.

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has visited Costa Rican President Laura Fernández alongside his wife, Folu Adeboye, during the church’s National Crusade of Hope in the Central American country.

Adeboye disclosed this in a post on his official X handle, describing the visit to the presidency as a great honour and an opportunity to strengthen relationships and discuss faith, peace and the transformation of lives.

He said he was warmly received by Fernández and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to engage with the country’s leadership.

“We were warmly received by President Laura Fernández, and I am grateful for this opportunity to strengthen relationships and share in conversations that underscore the importance of faith, hope, peace, and the transformation of lives,” Adeboye wrote.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated the Oba of Benin, His Royal Majesty, Ewuare II, Omo N’Oba N’Edo, Uku Akpolokpolo, on the 10th anniversary of his ascension to the throne of his forefathers, describing him as an embodiment of enduring dignity, culture and historical consciousness.

The President also congratulated the revered monarch on his 73rd birthday, which falls on October 20, 2026.

Tinubu conveyed his felicitations in a message personally signed by him on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, on behalf of his wife and the Federal Government of Nigeria.

In the message, the President said the milestone represented a decade of royal stewardship, dedicated service and an unwavering commitment to preserving the heritage and traditions of the Benin people.

Paris Saint-Germain defeated Barcelona 4-2 in a pulsating UEFA Champions League league-phase encounter on Tuesday.

Désiré Doué, Lucas Hernandez, Vitinha and Fabián Ruiz scored for PSG, while Xavi Espart and Lamine Yamal found the net for Barcelona in an entertaining six-goal encounter.

PSG made a lively start, with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia hitting the post in the second minute before Ousmane Dembélé and Doué tested Barcelona goalkeeper Joan García.

The hosts eventually broke the deadlock in the 38th minute when Doué collected a headed pass from João Neves and fired a powerful shot beyond García.
