Tiger Shroff Firing Case: How A Cab Driver’s Phone Call Led Mumbai Police To Accused In Kota – Details

Mumbai: The Mumbai Crime Branch has made a major breakthrough in the Tiger Shroff attack case. The investigation into the shooting incident revealed that a phone call made by a cab driver turned out to be a crucial lead in the probe, helping the police track down the accused in Rajasthan’s Kota. So far, four accused have reportedly been arrested in the case. Three of them were arrested in Kota within 24 hours of the incident.

The investigation began after the accused booked a cab to Surat. When the driver called the number used for the booking, the call provided a crucial lead to the Mumbai Crime Branch. By tracking the number through technical surveillance, the Crime Branch team managed to trace the cab driver. During questioning, the driver told the police that he had dropped the three suspects at Surat railway station.

Following this lead, the police quickly examined train timings, reservation charts and other travel-related data linked to Surat railway station.

Technical surveillance helped investigators establish that the accused were travelling towards Rajasthan aboard the Pune-Jaipur Express.

The Mumbai Police immediately contacted the Rajasthan Police. In a joint operation, the three accused were apprehended at Kota railway station.

The Mumbai Police will now seek the accused’s remand to investigate the source of the weapons, the individual roles of the three accused and their alleged digital links with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

Investigators are also examining whether any local associates helped the accused by providing them with shelter or financial support.

The Bollywood actor arrived at Jamnabai Narsee Ground, a football turf in Mumbai’s Juhu area, at around 3 pm on Sunday, October 18, as part of his regular routine. Between 5 pm and 5:30 pm, the actor played football and interacted with fans at the venue.

At around 7 pm, three motorcycle-borne assailants allegedly opened fire at the actor’s car near Pushpa Park in Juhu. The accused fled the spot on a motorcycle following the attack. Shroff was subsequently seen rushing towards Nanavati Hospital in his car along with his injured driver.

According to the sequence of events emerging from the investigation, the accused reached Andheri West railway station at around 8 pm after fleeing the Juhu area. They subsequently travelled towards Vasai railway station, where they are believed to have boarded the Pune-Jaipur Express at around 10 pm to leave Mumbai.

CCTV footage from Surat railway station later captured the suspects hurrying to board a train bound for Kota. The visuals have raised questions about their hurried movements and whether their travel arrangements had been finalised in advance.

Police spent the night tracing the accused through CCTV footage and other leads. Their investigation eventually took them to Kota in Rajasthan, where all three suspects were apprehended on Monday morning.
