The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced a four-hour maintenance outage on the Ikeja West/Ejigbo 132kV Transmission Line 1, expected to affect electricity supply to some customers in Lagos.
The maintenance is scheduled for Tuesday, October 20, 2026, between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. at the Ejigbo 132kV Transmission Substation.
TCN disclosed this in a notice issued on Tuesday, explaining that the outage was necessary to allow its maintenance crew to carry out routine work on the transmission line.
The company said the Ikeja West/Ejigbo 132kV Transmission Line 2 would also be taken out of service during the exercise to ensure the safety of the maintenance team.
“Consequently, approximately 40MW of load is expected to be interrupted at Ejigbo Transmission Substation during the maintenance period,” the notice stated.
However, TCN said measures had been put in place to reduce the impact of the outage on electricity consumers, particularly those connected to the airport supply network.
“Airport load will be diverted to the Isolo Transmission Line to minimise the impact of the outage,” the company said.
The planned maintenance is expected to affect customers of Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company (IKEDC) during the stated period.
TCN apologised to affected customers for the inconvenience, expressing regret over the temporary disruption to electricity supply.
