The incident reportedly occurred after Sundowns faced an Angolan opponent in the continental competition. Matches at this level often come with enormous pressure, as clubs compete for important results and coaches face expectations from their players, management and supporters.

According to reports, Komphela and the Angolan coach were involved in an exchange before the disagreement allegedly escalated into a physical confrontation. The incident has since become a talking point, with football supporters seeking clarity about what happened between the two technical team members.
