Sifuna Ally Escapes Death Amid Goon Attack During Mashujaa Celebrations

Former Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza reportedly had a frightening encounter after a group of rowdy individuals descended on her vehicle during Mashujaa Day celebrations in Githongo, Meru County.

According to claims circulating on social media, the incident occurred in the presence of police officers, raising questions about the security arrangements surrounding the former county boss and the response of law enforcement officers.

Videos and accounts shared online alleged that the individuals targeted Mwangaza’s car shortly after she arrived for the celebrations.

The incident sparked outrage among her supporters, with some describing the confrontation as a deliberate attempt to intimidate the former governor.

Supporters associated with the Linda Mwananchi movement claimed that the attack was politically motivated and accused unnamed individuals of orchestrating the incident.

However, the allegations of government involvement and an alleged plot to kill Mwangaza had not been independently verified at the time of publication.

The incident comes amid heightened political tensions in Meru, where Mwangaza remains a prominent political figure following her tenure as governor.

The reported attack has also triggered concerns about the safety of political leaders attending public events, particularly when rival political interests collide.

Questions have emerged over why the confrontation allegedly unfolded in the presence of police officers and whether any arrests were made in connection with the incident.

As reactions continue to emerge, attention is likely to turn to the police for clarification on what transpired in Githongo and whether investigations have been launched into the reported attack.

Authorities had yet to provide a verified account of the incident at the time of writing. Further details, including the extent of damage to Mwangaza’s vehicle and whether anyone was injured, remain unclear.
