Schwarzenegger Is My Age Mate,We Were Both Born In 1947; We Don’t Accept 2 Scripts At A Time—Edochie

Veteran Nollywood actor Pete Edochie has explained why he prefers to work on one movie production at a time, revealing that he does not accept multiple scripts simultaneously. The respected actor said his approach to filmmaking is based on discipline, concentration and a commitment to giving every production his full attention.

Edochie made the revelation during an interview with Femi Babs TV, where he discussed his acting career, professional principles and similarities between his work habits and those of Hollywood star Arnold Schwarzenegger.

According to the veteran actor, he and Schwarzenegger were both born in 1947 and share a similar philosophy when it comes to handling film projects. He explained that his son once drew his attention to an interview in which the Hollywood actor discussed his decision not to accept two movie scripts at the same time.

Edochie said the statement immediately caught his attention because it reflected a professional principle he had maintained throughout his own career. He emphasised his position during the interview, stating, “I don’t accept two scripts at a time. My age mate is Arnold Schwarzenegger, we were born the same year in 1947 and we have the same attitude to production generally.”

The actor explained that his son informed him about Schwarzenegger’s comments after watching the interview. He noted that discovering the Hollywood star followed a similar approach reinforced the connection between their professional values, despite their careers developing in different film industries.

Edochie further maintained that concentrating on one script allows him to remain focused on the production he is handling before committing himself to another project. His approach reflects the importance he places on managing his responsibilities carefully rather than dividing his attention between several movie assignments.

Beyond accepting scripts, the veteran actor also disclosed that he leaves a film set immediately after completing his final scene. This practice highlights his preference for fulfilling his assigned responsibilities and moving on once his work on a production has been completed.

His comments have provided an insight into the discipline and personal standards that have shaped his longstanding career in Nollywood. Edochie remains recognised as one of Nigeria’s prominent veteran actors, and his explanation offers a glimpse into the professional principles behind his approach to filmmaking.
