Sad as Man Falls from 8th Floor Through a Window of a Building in Kileleshwa
Nine people are being held for questioning after a 34-year-old man died in a suspected fall from an eighth-floor apartment in Kileleshwa, Nairobi.
The deceased, Raphael Muchomba Gitonga, was found unresponsive on the ground at Kaptai Court on the night of October 18-19, 2026.
Managers at Platinum Oak Apartments alerted the police. Early findings suggest Gitonga may have fallen through a window on the eighth floor of the neighbouring Platinum Oak Apartments, hitting a hard surface and suffering multiple injuries. Officers also noted bloodstains at the scene.
Detectives learnt that he had been in the apartment with other people before the incident, and that the group was reportedly taking part in a programme called the Journey Series/Meta Show.
Police took nine people into custody as persons of interest to assist with investigations, and stressed that the arrests do not by themselves establish criminal responsibility.
Crime Scene Investigation officers from the Nairobi Region processed, photographed and documented the scene. Gitonga’s body was then taken to Chiromo Funeral Parlour, where it is being preserved until a postmortem examination is done.
