PSG 4-2 BAR: Match Review And Latest UEFA Champions League Table

According to a report by BBC Sport on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, Barcelona suffered a disappointing 4-2 defeat against Paris Saint-Germain in their UEFA Champions League match at the Parc des Princes.

PSG started the game with confidence and took the lead in the 38th minute when Désiré Doué produced a fine finish from outside the box, with João Neves providing the assist. Barcelona tried to respond before the break, but the home side went into half-time with their advantage still intact.

Barcelona returned for the second half determined to get back into the game, and their efforts paid off in the 55th minute when Xavi Espart found the net with a right-footed finish after receiving a pass from Fermín López. The goal gave the visitors hope of getting something from the match, but PSG had other plans.

Doué then helped PSG regain control when his corner found Lucas Hernández, who headed home in the 72nd minute to restore the hosts’ lead. Barcelona refused to give up, and Lamine Yamal pulled one back in the 79th minute, according to the match timeline, giving his team a reason to believe they could still fight their way back.

However, PSG delivered another blow as Vitinha increased the pressure on Barcelona with a powerful strike from outside the box in the 81st minute, leaving the visitors with more work to do. Fabián Ruiz then tapped home from close range in the 86th minute after Achraf Hakimi supplied the assist, sealing an important victory for the French champions.

Barcelona enjoyed more possession during the closing stages, but they struggled to turn it into enough clear chances to change the outcome, while PSG remained dangerous whenever they moved forward.

With the victory, Paris Saint-Germain remain firmly at the top of the UEFA Champions League table with nine points, while Barcelona, following their disappointing defeat, settle for fifth position with six points.
