Popular Natembeya’s ‘TAWE’ Signatory Reaches Wamunyoro as Gachagua, Sifuna Showcase During Meeting

Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya’s signature ‘TAWE’ crossed-arms gesture has made a prominent appearance at former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s Wamunyoro residence during a high-stakes consultative sitting.

Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna and key members of the Linda Mwananchi team have joined Gachagua in striking the famous posture, showcasing political solidarity as opposition figures gear up for the upcoming 2027 General Election.

The symbolic gesture, which originally gained popularity across Western Kenya as a slogan rejecting oppression and political domination, has now taken center stage in Nyeri County.

Photographs captured at the venue have shown Gachagua, Sifuna, and fellow leaders smiling broadly while crossing their arms to display the ‘TAWE’ sign.

This joint showcase has reflected a growing convergence among regional political heavyweights who have sought to establish a broad-based opposition coalition.

Sifuna has publicly expressed gratitude to Gachagua and his wife, Mama Dorcas, for hosting the delegation at their private home shortly after his return from the United States.

He has emphasized that the Wamunyoro gathering has marked the first of many engagements aimed at fostering durable unity within opposition ranks.

By bringing together leaders from diverse regions, the meeting has demonstrated a deliberate effort to dismantle traditional political boundaries and build a united political front.

This political showcase in Wamunyoro has generated significant buzz nationwide, as observers have analyzed the deeper implications of adopting Natembeya’s movement symbol.

The unified display has underscored an increasing readiness among key players to pool their political capital ahead of the next electoral contest.

As consultation channels remain open between these prominent figures, this memorable moment has signaled that the opposition’s campaign preparations have gained decisive momentum.
