Pitso Dladla Explains What Nhlanhla Zwane Must Improve to Become a Complete Midfielder

Golden Arrows head coach Pitso Dladla has backed Nhlanhla Zwane to develop into a complete midfielder, while stressing that the 26-year-old still has areas of his game that require improvement.

Zwane’s performances this season have attracted growing attention, with his displays contributing to discussions about his potential and importance to the team. However, Dladla is keen to ensure that the excitement surrounding the midfielder does not overshadow the work still needed to help him reach the next level.

“Nhlanhla has his own areas to improve, but what I can tell you, we’re working very hard to improve him,” Dladla said.

Dladla explained that the coaching staff treats every player equally, regardless of the attention they receive from supporters or the media. The priority is to identify individual weaknesses and work consistently to address them.

“It’s different from people from outside than us as coaches. We treat all players the same. Each and every player has areas to improve,” he explained.

The coach added that he expects Zwane to become a more complete player through continued training and development. He also emphasised that the same approach applies to the entire Golden Arrows squad, not just one individual.

Zwane joined Golden Arrows from the University of Pretoria in 2023 and has steadily established himself as an important member of the team. His recent performances have strengthened his reputation as a midfielder capable of making a significant contribution.

For Dladla, the challenge now is to help Zwane maintain his form while improving the different aspects of his game. With the 2026/27 campaign underway, the midfielder will have further opportunities to demonstrate his quality and continue his development.

Although the praise surrounding Zwane continues to grow, Dladla’s message is clear: talent and impressive performances are only part of the journey. Consistent improvement will be essential if the midfielder is to fulfil his potential.
