Several more Galaxy phones are getting Samsung's One UI 9 update, and this time the rollout is moving quickly beyond South Korea.

The update, built on Android 17, has started arriving on the Galaxy S23, S23+ and S23 Ultra in Europe and the U.K., while users of mid-range devices such as the A56 and A36 are getting the update in Asia and Europe too. Millions of Galaxy phone owners should have access to new One UI 9 features and customization options this week.

Samsung tracker Tarun Vats reports that S23 owners in the U.K. who signed up for the One UI 9 beta were first in line on Monday, followed by owners in Europe. Some U.S. users on Reddit are seeing the update, alongside others in Germany and Poland. Beta testers get a file of around 500MB, while anyone jumping from One UI 8.5 is looking at a couple of gigabytes.

The Galaxy A56, one of Samsung's most popular mid-range phones, began its global rollout in Indonesia. The Galaxy A36 followed on Tuesday, with Europe again first in line, according to SamMobile. Its update carries the September security patch rather than October's. The Galaxy A37 is receiving the One UI 9 update in Korea and Europe.

India should be close considering the update is quickly landing in several countries this week. Vats says the Galaxy S23, A27, A37 and A56 are all lined up for stable One UI 9 there, though Samsung hasn't confirmed a date. In the U.S., he says T-Mobile was scheduled to start sending it to the Galaxy S23 series on Monday, with other carriers and unlocked models to follow after.

For the S23 series, probably. It launched with Android 13 in February 2023 and was promised four major Android upgrades, making Android 17 the last. Security updates will, however, continue.

The A36 is in a very different position. It launched with Android 15 last year, so this is only its second major OS update, with several more promised. With six more phones joining the S26, S25 and S24, Samsung's One UI 9 update now covers four generations of Galaxy flagships and a growing share of its mid-range lineup. Older Galaxy A models and tablets are next.
