Nollywood actress Chita Agwu announces end of 11-year marriage
Nollywood actress Chita Agwu has announced the dissolution of her marriage to Johnson Maduabuchi after 11 years together.
The actress disclosed this in an Instagram statement shared with the public on Monday, saying the marriage had been legally dissolved by a court.
“After much thought and a journey that has been deeply personal, I wish to officially inform the public that my marriage has been legally dissolved by the court,” she stated.
Agwu described the development as the end of a chapter in her life, adding that she was embracing a new beginning with peace, grace and dignity.
She noted that not every marriage ended as hoped, stressing that individuals deserved the freedom to move forward without judgment, ridicule or public humiliation.
“Out of respect for everyone involved, I will not be sharing private details or engaging in public discussions about the circumstances surrounding my divorce,” she said.
The actress also appealed to the public to respect her privacy and that of her former partner.
Expressing gratitude to those who had supported her, Agwu said she was choosing healing and personal growth as she moved into the next phase of her life.
“My marriage has ended, but my life continues. I move forward with my head held high, my dignity intact, and my heart open to the future,” she added.
The announcement marks the end of the couple’s 11-year marriage.
