Nana Akua Addo’s Husband Remanded, She Gains Custody of Daughters
Ghanaian fashion icon Nana Akua Addo has been granted custody of her two daughters, while her husband, Harold Duodu Norman, has been remanded for two weeks in an ongoing domestic violence case. The ruling was made during a court session on Tuesday, October 20, marking a significant development in a matter that has drawn considerable public attention.
The case stems from a petition Nana Akua Addo, legally known as Rosemond Akua Adobea, filed with the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) on August 20, 2026. She alleged that her husband subjected her to physical, emotional, and economic abuse. Following the petition, Norman was arrested at his residence on August 27 and later granted police enquiry bail on August 29 with two sureties as investigations continued.
Norman was initially scheduled to appear in court on October 7, but his lawyer informed authorities that he had been hospitalized. DOVVSU investigators visited the hospital to verify the claim and indicated they would ensure his appearance once discharged. The recent court session on October 20 ultimately led to his remand, while the custody arrangement for the couple’s daughters was established to safeguard their welfare during the proceedings.
The CID has stated it is collaborating with the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection to ensure that Nana Akua Addo and her children receive appropriate social welfare support. The police have reaffirmed their commitment to investigating domestic violence complaints professionally and fairly. The allegations remain under investigation and have not been conclusively established in court.
