Mofokeng’s numbers in Europe: Goals, assists and appearances this season

The Bafana Bafana international has been getting opportunities in both domestic and European competition, and his early scoring record suggests he is adapting to the demands of football abroad.

Mofokeng opened his scoring account with a goal in Union SG’s 5-1 victory over Westerlo on 8 August. He also found the net against Sint-Truiden and Lommel in the Belgian Pro League before scoring in the Europa League against Viktoria Plzeň in September.

His assist came in a 2-0 league win over Antwerp on 20 September, adding another contribution to his growing record in Belgium.

The 21-year-old has also featured in European qualifying and continental competition, gaining experience against opposition outside South Africa. His early minutes have largely come in a rotational role, with appearances as both a starter and substitute.

Mofokeng finished the 2025/26 Betway Premiership campaign with Orlando Pirates with 10 goals and eight assists in 27 league appearances, according to Opta Analyst. Those numbers helped him earn three major individual PSL awards, including Footballer of the Season.

His move to Belgium represents a new test for the South African international. If he continues contributing goals and assists while earning more playing time, he will strengthen his case for a regular starting place at Union SG.
