Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn faced off for the first time since both captured world championships, and The OTC followed up by taking the fight to The 946 with The Usos and Solo Sikoa.
Penta took down Bron Breakker with the help of Je'Von Evans. Chad Gable again defended his Intercontinental Championship successfully. Lola Vice defeated Lyra Valkyria thanks to a timely Bayley intervention.
This was the foundation of an important show as WWE heads toward Crown Jewel on November 7. Check out all the fallout from Raw below.
Penta is Mr. Money in the Bank, and he looks extremely confident carrying around the briefcase.
In some ways, he is already carrying himself as a world champion, which makes the luchador a big deal every time he appears.
With this in mind, WWE should not rush the cash-in. Penta could continue to taunt the world champions while he chooses the perfect time to strike.
The luchador could wait until the next major WWE show in Mexico or at least call his shot at a major premium live event, whether it be the Royal Rumble or WrestleMania.
A quick cash-in disrupts the stories of both world champions and would take longer-term story builds off the table.
Especially if Penta is going to have a lengthy run as champion, WWE should establish a clear direction for his reign before giving him the title rather than hot-shotting the change for immediate buzz.
WWE/WWE via Getty ImagesLola Vice Iyo Sky has pinned women's intercontinental champion Raquel Rodriguez, and with that win, she is likely the next in line to challenge for the gold.
While The Genius of the Sky would be a great titleholder, she does not need the belt right now, especially with multiple younger, less proven stars waiting for their shot.
In particular, WWE has set up Lola Vice as an immediately credible threat coming off an NXT Women's Championship reign. She even holds her own pinfall over Rodriguez.
While Rodriguez is a veteran who deserved a singles accolade, it is time to move on to a younger star such as the 28-year-old Vice.
WWE needs to keep building fresh names, and Sky losing to Rodriguez only for Vice to pull off the win would solidify the former MMA fighter as a real threat on Raw.
Is there a bigger story on Raw that WWE has fallen short on building than the rivalry between Lyra Valkyria and Bayley?
Since Valkyria's initial heel turn, WWE has been noticeably inconsistent in its presentation of her.
Despite Valkyria's two wins over Bayley, The Role Model still feels more important to the weekly product. The Valkyrie's frequent absences from television have not helped.
Next week, the two will collide in a No Disqualification match that may end this story.
The match needs more than strong action; it needs a memorable moment that gives this rivalry lasting significance.
This could mean Bayley and Valkyria pulling off the best spot of the night in the ring or a brawl outside of the ring that leads to a memorable fall in the backstage area.
The goal should be to convince fans that these two matter, and whatever comes of this rivalry, both should be moving into the title picture afterward.
Grading WWE Raw 🔠Bleacher Report6hWWE Must End Judgment Day 🚫Bleacher Report15hBS Meter on Latest WWE Rumors 🌡️Bleacher Report2dNot Every Week Needs to Focus on Bloodline vs. 9464 of 5WWE/WWE via Getty ImagesThe Bloodline Professional wrestling is built on the back of a variety of stars that work hard to get serious chances to shine. It is a variety show every week.
Despite this, Raw does not feel like it has much variety. Every week recently has closed on 946 battling The Bloodline, no matter what is booked for the night.
This show could have ended with "All Ego" Ethan Page making a statement at the expense of Chad Gable, selling his chances of becoming the next Intercontinental champion.
Instead, the show ended once again with the same groups fighting, building toward the inevitable WarGames battle that should not be the immediate focus of the current product.
The OTC should be focused on Sami Zayn while more brawling between these crews could have happened backstage.
Crown Jewel is the next big show for WWE, but Raw has not been building nearly as much to that PLE as Survivor Series: WarGames.
The biggest angle on Raw is The Bloodline vs. 946. The first act of that rivalry will culminate in a battle inside WarGames.
It is good to know WWE has built hype for this angle enough to create a genuinely engaging team vs. team battle for Survivor Series.
However, it is not the time to go full steam ahead on WarGames. Roman Reigns should not be brushing off and insulting Sami Zayn as a lesser champion.
Chelsea Green and Liv Morgan should be fighting and arguing in more substantial segments than random tag team matches.
If there is no real desire to make Crown Jewel's matches matter, why even deliver the show, especially when Survivor Series clearly does matter to Raw?
