Meet the Cameroonian who just debuted as Victoria’s Secret’s newest Angel

Solange Omon, 21, made her runway debut as Victoria’s Secret’s newest Angel on October 18 at the 2026 Fashion Show after winning a nationwide casting call, being among thousands of hopefuls. 

Her journey was featured in the docuseries Angels Among Us, streaming on YouTube since September. The series followed her casting and training experiences alongside Adam Selman, EVP and Chief Creative Officer, and various models and experts across major cities like Los Angeles and Miami.

Omon was introduced to viewers in Chicago, where her vibrant personality quickly captivated everyone, securing her a place in the top 10. After receiving the call that she made it to the next phase of the process, she was “speechless”.

Omon told People, “…I started screaming, and as soon as I was done with that call, because I live alone, I was like, ‘I’m driving to my mom because I need to share this news with someone.’ So that day, it was the happiest day of my life, honestly.”

Omon, a native of Cameroon who now lives in Maine, described the casting experience as “really fun.” After making the top 10, she went to New York with the other models for runway training, photo shoots, and fittings. Contestants were gradually eliminated until the final three emerged: Omon, Andreína Martínez, and Tatyana Tinsley.

As the eliminations progressed, Omon felt increasingly stressed until she reached the final stages. With fewer contestants left, her confidence grew as she recognized her improvements.

When her name was announced as the winner, Omon was “shocked.”

“I was expecting my name, but not expecting my name,” she recounted. “I’m just standing there, and I’m just expecting this beautiful news. So I’m screaming in my head … I’m thinking about the past couple months and everything that happened. And I’m also having my friend next to me because we’re all standing together. So I was so happy, but I was also so sad. I couldn’t explain the feeling because we became friends, and I’m having this good news, and I also want you to have good news so we can celebrate together, but I’m just standing and just looking at them and seeing how sad, but also how happy they were for me. So it was mostly a mix of feelings in the moment.”

Omon shared that modeling has always been her dream. Before her new role, she was a program coordinator at a nonprofit.

“I was usually helping Black and immigrant kids, teenagers mostly, helping them apply for jobs and navigate networking and things like that, as well as teaching them about climate change,” she recalled. “Previously, I was working also as a program coordinator in another nonprofit helping people between 16 and 24, connecting them with mentors, helping them with school stuff, connecting them with the community, and things like that. I was also going to school as a college student.”

Omon has secured an exclusive modeling contract with IMG Models, marking the beginning of her career.

Walking the runway at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is just the first step toward her big dreams, she said.

“This is the life that I want to have,” Omon added.

Selman explained that the casting call emerged from the public’s wish to walk the runway.

Her story is incredibly inspiring, and the determination, resilience, and passion she brought to every step of the journey made a real impression on us.”

Watching Solange transform into an Angel from the casting process to the runway has been really special. WMTW reported that she is the oldest of six siblings and a full-time college student.
