Man accuses fetish priestess of using and dumping him after 35 years

A man from Konongo-Odumase, Akwasi Wusu, has accused fetish priestess Komfour Frimponmaa of abandoning him after 35 years of living together.

The former couple has nine children five boys and four girls.Their relationship, which spanned more than three decades, has reportedly ended under painful circumstances, prompting Wusu to seek justice on Adom TV and Nhyira FM’s Obra Show.

Recounting his ordeal, Wusu claimed he stood by Frimponmaa when she began experiencing what he described as a spiritual calling, which allegedly led to her rejection by her family.

According to him, he supported her throughout the difficult period and later became the linguist who assisted her in performing her spiritual duties.

He further claimed that they saved money together and acquired land on which they began constructing a house.

However, Wusu alleged that his relationship with Frimponmaa ended abruptly while he was away attending to his late mother’s one-week observance.

He narrated that upon his return, his children brought his clothes to him in a Ghana Must Go bag, explaining that their mother had declared the relationship over.

Wusu further alleged that less than two weeks before his appearance on the programme, he returned to the house and found another man living there.

Mary, the first child of the former couple, accompanied her father to the Nhyira FM studios in support of his claims.

She alleged that their mother initially introduced a man identified as Kofi Dada to the family as their uncle. However, the children later came to believe that he was their mother’s lover.

Mary further claimed that their mother’s relationship with the man had contributed to her neglect of the children.

In response to the allegations, Komfour Frimponmaa maintained that the house and other properties belonged to the gods and, therefore, she had nothing to give her former partner. She insisted that the gods were the rightful owners of the properties and should determine what happens to them.

During the programme, she reportedly maintained her position that she would not give Wusu any money or property despite his alleged support throughout their 35-year relationship.

She also accused him of insulting her over the smell of her private parts and alleged that he smoked marijuana and frequently became intoxicated.

“I will never stay with you again or give you a penny. I have sent the case to court, and the Sumankwahene will be involved,” she stated.

The host, Ohemaa Benewaa, and her team expressed concern over the alleged treatment of Akwasi Wusu and the children

The team criticised the actions attributed to Komfour Frimponmaa, Kofi Dada, and the family head, known as the Abusuapanin, and indicated its commitment to pursuing lawful avenues to seek justice for the complainant.

The case has also sparked discussions about fairness in relationships, particularly when long-term partners separate after years of building a family and acquiring properties together.

Some listeners questioned what the situation might have looked like if a woman had been the complainant, highlighting broader concerns about fairness and the treatment of men and women in failed relationships.

The matter remains a subject of public discussion as the parties seek a resolution.
