Iran’s Economy Is In The Gutter, Their Currency Is As Weak As Its Ever Been, It’s A Bad Position-Falk
According to a video posted on JNS on Monday October 19, 2026, Ophir Falk, senior foreign policy adviser to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, said Iran’s economy is in the gutter. He said the country’s currency is as weak as it has ever been. He added that the regime is in a very bad position right now.
Falk was responding to a question on whether the regime in Iran might fall. The presenter had noted that the Prime Minister and Israel’s ambassador to the United States have said it will. Falk said the regime will fall eventually because it is weaker than ever.
He said Israel does not define the fall of the regime as a goal. He said Israel could create the conditions for Iranians to take their destiny into their own hands. He added that this is very difficult because the rulers in Tehran are slaughtering people on the streets.
In his words, Falk said, “This regime is so, so weakened from the war. Their economy is in the gutter. Their currency is as weak as it has ever been. It is like two and a half million rial to a dollar or something like that, and there is unemployment and inflation. So I think that they are in a very bad, bad position right now,” he said.
Falk said it is understandable that people hesitate to go out on the streets. He said the rulers in Tehran have killed thousands of innocent people. He said the Iranian people may step up when that becomes possible.
Falk also said that if Iran makes the mistake of attacking Israel, it would be a huge mistake. He repeated the Prime Minister’s position that Iran will never have nuclear weapons as long as he is Prime Minister. He said this applies one way or another, whether there is a deal or no deal.
