If You Go to Kano From Now Till Tomorrow, Kano Will Be Locked Down To Celebrate A Great Man –Iroegbu

In a recent interview on News Central TV, on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, Nnamdi Dickson Iroegbu, a chieftain of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), celebrated Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso ahead of his 70th birthday, describing the former Kano State governor as an influential political figure in northern Nigeria.

During the interview, Iroegbu praised Kwankwaso’s political contributions and his relationship with ordinary Nigerians, particularly people from less privileged backgrounds. He also expressed optimism about the partnership between Kwankwaso and the NDC presidential candidate, Peter Obi, ahead of the 2027 general election.

According to Iroegbu, “If you go to Kano from now till tomorrow, Kano will be locked down to celebrate a great man.” He made the statement while extending birthday wishes to Kwankwaso and highlighting the celebrations expected in Kano.

Iroegbu described Kwankwaso as a patriot and a prominent voice for the talakawa, a term commonly used to describe ordinary and working class people. He expressed confidence that the former governor’s birthday would attract considerable attention from his supporters and admirers.

The NDC chieftain also welcomed Kwankwaso’s decision to partner with Obi, arguing that the alliance brought together political movements with significant followings in northern and southern Nigeria.

He maintained that the partnership could strengthen the NDC’s efforts to reach more Nigerians and address concerns about insecurity, economic hardship and the rising cost of living.

He concluded by congratulating Kwankwaso on his 70th birthday and expressing confidence that his partnership with Obi would remain an important part of the NDC’s political preparations for the 2027 general election.
