I Went To Tinubu’s Home And I Was Almost Crying After PMB Refused To Sign Bill For Uni In Oyo—Buhari
In an interview with Arise TV, Senator Abdulfatai Buhari stated that President Tinubu has delivered one of the three things Oyo North Senatorial District needs to support him in the 2027 presidential election
Senator Buhari said Tinubu gave Oyo North a federal university. He explained that when he was elected as a senator, Oyo North had no federal university.
Senator Buhari said he sponsored bills for a University of Transportation in Daura and a Federal University of Agriculture in Oke-Ogun. He said the president at the time, Muhammadu Buhari, signed only the bill for a University of Transportation in Daura
Senator Buhari said he then went to Tinubu’s house almost in tears, and Tinubu assured him that another president would sign the bill for a Federal University of Agriculture in Oyo North. He said Tinubu eventually signed the bill when he became president
Senator Buhari said the two things left for Tinubu to do is to establish a Federal Medical Centre in Oyo and a military formation in Ogbomosho.
In Senator Buhari’s words: “I said to Tinubu, ‘Sir when I was contesting for Senate we didn’t even have a federal government secondary school, talkless of a University. And I remember sir, when I came to you in Lagos house I was almost crying and you said what happened? I said I sponsored two bills: University of transportation in Daura and Federal University of Agriculture in Oke-Ogun. The president at that time calls me ‘My namesake’ so I was 100 percent sure he was going to sign the two bills, but he signed only the one in Daura”
