I Could Have Poisoned Oteele — Kumawood Actor’s Wife Breaks Silence After His Leaked Atopa Video

Gifty Nana Afriyie, wife of popular Kumawood actor Oteele, has dropped a shocking confession about how much pain she went through after an atopa video of her husband with another woman went viral.

In an emotional interview with NAYAS, Gifty said she could have poisoned Oteele if he had continued to live with her without showing any remorse.

According to her, forgiving her husband was not easy at all. The video, popularly called “Azigi” online, caused her serious emotional trauma and public shame. Many people thought she was the woman in the video, forcing her to come out in a tearful TikTok video to deny it and apologize to Ghanaians.

“I would have poisoned Oteele if we were together when his leaked video surfaced and he showed no signs of remorse,” she reportedly said.

She explained that if she had stayed with him and he had acted like nothing happened, without saying sorry or showing regret, the situation could have turned dangerous. The pain was too much to handle.

Gifty, who has been married to Oteele since 2019, also revealed that it would have been very difficult for her to accept Oteele marrying the woman in the video, considering all the sacrifices she has made over the years — supporting him through his career and taking care of an orphanage home entrusted to her.

After the scandal, Oteele issued a public apology, but the damage was already done. In a later TikTok interview on September 6, 2026, Oteele confirmed that his wife had left him.

In a message to him, Gifty told him to accept their separation and be alone, telling him to take care of their children himself.

Her old interview from 2025 with Zionfelix has also resurfaced, where she alleged that Oteele had cheated on her several times before the leaked video saga.

The issue has sparked massive debate online, with many sympathizing with Gifty while others are shocked by her poison confession.
