I called 10 people in Rivers, all of them said Wike did not know what he was talking about—Ehilebo
Anthony Ehilebo, an APM chieftain and Special Adviser on Digital and Media to the Makinde-Daura 2027 Campaign, has accused critics of President Bola Tinubu’s government of being tied to the president himself.
He made the remarks in an interview with Symfoni TV, “I think the people who say that are related to our president,” Ehilebo said. “That’s what he thinks, and I bet him that on January 16th, 2027, he’ll be very shocked, because Nigerians have their backs against the wall, and this time they will fight back.”
He said he has been speaking with Nigerians across the country and drew a sharp contrast with the president. “We’re not like the president, sitting back,” he said. “My principal, Governor Makinde, has been going around the country. We’ve finished the town hall meetings in the northern zones, and he has interacted directly with affected people and seen their pain.”
Ehilebo argued that this is exactly what the country’s leaders have missed. “That’s what these cocooned leaders have lost touch with,” he said. “They sit in their high spaces thinking all is well. Nigeria is in dire straits. Nigerians are suffering and dying.”
He pointed to figures from international bodies as proof. “If the UN and UNDP are releasing statistics showing how dire the situation is, how dare anybody say all is well?” he asked.
Ehilebo also took aim at FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, who had claimed at the campaign council launch that he had “gotten” the FCT and Rivers State. Ehilebo dismissed the claim and questioned it directly. “Who in Rivers has he gotten?” he asked. He said, “I called between five and ten people in Rivers State, and all of them told me Wike did not know what he was talking about.”
