Famous NTV Presenter Walks Out on a Date, Leaving Her Date with Her Handbag

NTV presenter Laura Mbatha has left Kenyans laughing after revealing how she once walked out on a date she found dull, leaving her handbag with the man. She shared the story on the Iko Nini podcast on Monday, October 19.

Laura said the evening began with dinner before the pair went to watch a movie. By the time the lights went down, she had already lost interest. She told her date she would be back shortly, then left the cinema, took a boda boda to Westlands and joined friends who were waiting for her.

She said she felt no need to explain herself and has no idea where the man went afterwards. According to her, he kept calling for days, saying he had her bag.

The handbag, she explained, was of little value. Her keys, money and other essentials stay in her pockets, and she carries the bag for aesthetics. She told the host it usually has nothing in it, which meant the man’s calls did little to bring her back.

Asked about his persistence, she was unmoved. She said he should have read the signs, and she and the host burst into laughter.

The clip has since picked up steam online, with many Kenyans calling the story relatable and hilarious.
