Chelsea close in on €12m winger Gessime Yassine as Mike Penders gets his chance

Chelsea are rapidly advancing their long-term squad reconstruction under the BlueCo multi-club network, with Moroccan winger Gessime Yassine reported to be ‘practically signed’ from French sister club RC Strasbourg Alsace.

The 20-year-old international forward has emerged as one of the most exciting young attacking talents in Ligue 1, catching the attention of Chelsea’s executive recruitment hierarchy following a series of commanding domestic performances.

Yassine’s impending arrival at Stamford Bridge highlights the strategic synergy between Chelsea and Strasbourg. The dynamic right-winger made an impressive start to the campaign by recording three goal contributions in his opening six matches, demonstrating explosive speed, technical flair, and precise crossing ability.

Valued at roughly €12 million, Yassine fits seamlessly into Chelsea’s vision of securing world-class young talent with massive future upside.

Simultaneously, young Belgian goalkeeper Mike Penders has been thrust into the spotlight, earning a crucial opportunity to step up and prove his credentials between the sticks for Chelsea.

Following senior goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez’s unfortunate jaw injury that required surgery, the 21-year-old shot-stopper came off the bench against Everton to keep a clean sheet and now prepares for a high-profile sequence of matches.

Penders, who spent last season gaining invaluable top-flight experience on loan at Strasbourg before returning to London, possesses the height, athletic reach, and modern distribution skills required to anchor Chelsea’s defense.

With a vital block of domestic and cup fixtures on the horizon, Penders has a golden moment to stake his claim as a permanent fixture in the senior squad as Chelsea continue their relentless march across all competitions.
